G. K. Chesterton
The G.K. Chesterton Moshixel mosaic shows the portrait of the great English author, essayist, and thinker Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874 - 1936). Based in its outline on a photography taken when the author was 40 years old, the mosaic shows Chesterton against a spiral pattern background. While Chesterton's teint and facial features are portrayed exclusively in warm colors (while, yellow, orange, and red), the background contains the darker colors green and blue arranged in such a way as to create a halo-effect. Color randomization is used to render the portrayal lively and highlight Chesterton's joyful and endlessly fascinating character.
The Chesterton Moshixel consists of 900 Rubik's cubes arranged in a 30x30 grid. It can be made in two sizes and is framed. The larger size (68x68 inches) uses regular-sized Rubik's cubes; the small size (33x33 inches) uses mini-sized cubes.
